“Thank you so so much for playing at our wedding and making it a night we'll never forget. You guys were amazing and all of our guests have commented on how fantastic you were. You even got the groom up dancing and that rarely happens. We would highly recommend Funk Conspiracy - absolutely awesome band!”

When to book your Wedding Band, by Funk Conspiracy

As a wedding band with more than ten years experience, Funk Conspiracy have a wealth of knowledge of the industry. Read this guide to help you decide when to book your wedding band.

Before you book your Wedding Band

As you may be aware wedding entertainment is a seasonal industry as there are certain months that are the most popular to hold weddings. Weddings are generally held in the summer months, from May to September. The main reason for this is because you are more likely to have good weather. If you are plan to hold your wedding during May, June, July, August or September, it is advised to book your wedding band at least a year in advance, preferably twelve to eighteen months ahead.

There are certain key days and dates that are popular. The key days are Saturdays. The key dates are anytime during the summer months, especially Saturdays, and during school holidays, Bank Holiday weekends, Easter, Christmas, New Year and the week in between Christmas and New Year. If you are planning your wedding on a Saturday at these key times, it is advised you book your wedding band as early as possible so as not to be disappointed.

Wedding bands are quiet during January and February, usually due to the weather at this time. Remember that there are some beautiful venues in the North East where you can hold a traditional winter wedding. Pagan tradition says snow on your wedding day is a sign of good luck and fortune! So consider a winter wedding because you are more likely to secure the wedding band of your choice, and you will also find the venues and costs associated with your wedding will be a lot lower!

Trends over the last couple of years show that people are booking their wedding band later and later, and many people get disappointed when their date has been booked for someone else’s wedding. Don’t be one of these people, your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life and your wedding entertainment is an integral part of the day. Find your wedding band as early as possible and book them as soon as you have made your decision!

During the booking process

At the time of booking your wedding band, many bands ask for a deposit upfront. This can be to secure your booking but in some cases, it does not offer you any security at all. Funk Conspiracy do not ask for a deposit, your security is in the contract that both parties sign. When signing any contract, ensure you read and understand all the terms and conditions. If there is anything you are not sure about, speak to the band leader.

After you book your Wedding Band

Once you have booked your wedding band ensure you keep in touch with the band as the timings and details of your wedding and reception are of the utmost importance to the band. Your band will help you to work out the best time for their set-up time and performance, so be sure to communicate the details of your wedding ceremony times, speeches and evening buffets as soon as you know them.
